Another focal post for daveverse discourse

Daveverse has become a serious site, and I'm more reluctant to use it for a test post than I ever have been, but here I am once again doing a test post. I have high hopes for this test. And my sleeves are rolled up, I'm reasonably caffeinated, and ready to rock. Or roll.

Maybe I'll write some stuff here that I will later post to Scripting News, when it will come right back here to daveverse. As they say — Oh the humanity.

BTW the trailer for Animal Farm was realllly offensive, as if it were a cautionary tale. It looks like a kids show, but it's not, but people will still have their kids watch it, they won't know and "A cautionary tale" kind of says the problem out loud. It's bullshit because we're living Animal Farm right now. So if you want your kid to be aware of reality, the cautionary tale part is a problem.

BTW when I first wrote this, I wrote Animal House not Animal Farm. Very different movies.

Also the Scorcese special is full of information about how movies work, but barely skims the surface. Watching it was like watching the Peter Jackson Beatles story. All of a sudden I get a glimpse of how they do it, how people work with each other. Scorcese formed a kind of Beatles of his own. And there are a lot of his movies I haven't seen.

NakedJen if you read this — can we find a way to get four great Scorcese movies I haven't seen into the rotation? And btw, when I typed NJ's name in just now, I wrote NakeDen. Too much ChatGPT I expect.
